About Us Swan Mountain Ranch is owned by Pat and Joanne Tabor. They purchased the ranch in 1999, and have dedicated their hearts and souls (and a lot of money) to converting the facility into a first class guest ranch. The ranch is a unique blend of an operating horse ranch, private residence and luxury lodge that provides guests with a truly different lodging experience.Pat and Joanne are also the owners and operators of the Swan Group of Companies, one of the largest and most diverse set of outdoor recreation companies in Montana. Rides are offered out of three locations: Apgar, Lake McDonald and Many Glacier Swan Mountain Wilderness Guide School: offers the latest in hunting guide school instruction, hunting techniques and hunting outfitter and adventurer training taught by a significant staff of recognized experts and professionals. We offer a 4-5 week wilderness outdoor guide school, and 10 day outfitter training course as well as training programs for hunters and adventurers, wranglers, packers and waterfowl guides Swan Mountain Llama Trekking: created by the purchase of Great Northern Llama Company (America's oldest llama pack trip outfitter and guide service). Swan Mountain Llama Trekking provides llama treks from two hours up to four days in areas of the wilderness where horses and mules aren't even allowed! Swan Mountain Consulting Group: a boutique consulting firm with a virtual workforce that has adapted most general service lines of consulting and specifically tapered them to outfitting, outdoor recreation, adventure travel and eco-tourism companies Having spent over 25 years in the corporate world, Pat had a vision to create a recreation business that catered to guests looking for uniqueness and customization. “I personally don’t enjoy vacations where you have to fit into a slot or take a number and fall in line.
