Our Backcountry Cross Country Skiing Trails in Montana
We use state roads that were developed for logging purposes and are no longer used. During the off-season we maintain these roads, clearing debris. These roads are linked by trails that we have cut to create the loop, or add additional challenge. When the snows descend on us, we first groom the road as widely as we can then take another pass with a track setter. Our groomer for skating is state-of-the-art and produces a corduroy surface. All trails are distinctively marked. All our trails include resting benches and periodic warming huts, so skiers can select their spot for lunch or a break. Warming huts have woodstoves and chairs so you can relax and warm up or simply make a day of it. There are snacks coffee/hot chocolate and water available for sale as well as an on-site gift shop. We also have a 1 & 1/3 acre pond then freezes and we provide ice-skating on the pond for ice skating enthusiasts. Find out more about our cross country skiing options: |
